The Panzerkampfwagen IV was the backbone tank of German armoured units and was gradually developed in many variants. The Ausf. G, introduced in 1942, brought a major improvement in the form of the long 75mm KwK 40 L/43 gun, which greatly increased the tank's combat value against Soviet armour. This variant proved particularly successful on the Eastern Front, where it formed an important part of the Wehrmacht's armament.
In 1943, the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. G took part in the Third Battle of Kharkov, where German forces under Field Marshal Erich von Manstein managed to halt the Soviet offensive and temporarily regain the initiative. These battles represented one of the last great successes of the German forces on the Eastern Front.
The Border Model 1/35th scale kit offers a highly detailed rendition of the Pz.Kpfw. IV Ausf. G, realistic surface details and historically accurate features to build a faithful model of the Battle of Kharkov.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
