1/35 GERMAN & ROMANIAN PILOTS W/GROUND STAFF

Cooperation between the Luftwaffe and the Romanian Air Force was an important part of the Axis on the Eastern Front during World War II. Romania entered the war alongside Germany in 1941 and its air force operated alongside German forces in the campaign against the Soviet Union. Romanian pilots flew both indigenous types and German machines supplied as military aid, and shared airfields, infrastructure and ground personnel with the Luftwaffe. This cooperation included not only combat missions but also day-to-day operations - maintenance, refuelling, aircraft preparation and coordination between pilots and mechanics.

The MiniArt kit features six detailed figures depicting just this mixed nature of air operations. The set features German and Romanian pilots in authentic uniforms, accompanied by ground personnel - mechanics, technicians or support staff - who were responsible for the operation of the airfields. The figures are conceived in dynamic poses corresponding to common activities at the airport: preparation for flight, consultation, work on equipment or rest between missions. Included are photo-etched parts for finer details (buckles, insignia, small elements of equipment) and equipment accessories typical of WWII-era aircrew.

The kit is designed for 1:35 scale, making it compatible with most aviation models in this scale as well as ground vehicles. The figures are well complemented by dioramas depicting an airfield scene, pilots' rest area, mission preparation or a moment after returning from a combat flight. The detailed treatment of uniforms and equipment allows for an accurate historical representation of the differences between German and Romanian personnel. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
