1/35 British Heavy Tank Mk. V Male
Meng 1/35 British Heavy Tank Mk. V Male is a 1/35th scale plastic model construction kit of the iconic WWI British heavy tank. The Male version was armed with guns and represented the main striking force of these pioneering armoured vehicles.
British heavy tank Mk. V was introduced in 1918 as an improved version of the previous Mark IV types. The new 150 hp Ricardo engine and improved steering system simplified the handling of theand improved reliability, which were major shortcomings of the first combat deployments of the tanks. The Mk. V was characterised by its typical diamond-shaped hull and tracks encircling the entire hull, allowing it to negotiate the wide trenches and rough terrain of the Western Front.
The Male version carried a pair of 57mm cannons mounted in the side sponsons, supplemented by machine guns. These machines first joined the fighting in the summer of 1918 during the Western Front offensives, where they played a significant role in breaking through the German lines. Mk. V became a symbol of the beginnings of modern armoured technology and laid the basis for further tank development in the interwar period.
The 1/35th scale Meng kit offers a detailed model of this legendary tank, including the characteristic hull shape, tracks and armament. It is the ideal choice for modellers interested in WWI and the early days of armoured vehicles.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
