75 mm ammunition was among the most widely used types of tank and artillery rounds by the Allied forces during the Second World War. The M48 (high-explosive, HE) and M72 (armour-piercing, AP) rounds formed the basis of the combat equipment for a whole range of armoured vehicles, and their supply was a key part of combat units’ logistics. It is precisely the transport and storage of ammunition in wooden crates that adds a touch of authenticity to dioramas and scenes, telling the story of the combat units’ rear support just as effectively as the military equipment itself.
This 1:35 scale set from MiniArt offers modellers the opportunity to significantly bring Allied tanks and vehicles to life. The combination of ammunition and transport crates is ideal for creating scenes depicting the loading or unloading of ammunition, supply areas, field depots or workshop dioramas. The contents of the pack include 15 M48 rounds, 10 M72 rounds, 5 empty cartridge cases and 10 wooden crates, providing ample elements to create a lively and realistic composition.
Thanks to its dimensions and contents, the set is suitable as an accessory for models such as the M4 Sherman, M3 Lee/Grant, M24 Chaffee and Churchill Mk.VI–VII. The detailed finish of the wooden crates and individual rounds allows for effective painting and weathering — for the wood, this involves highlighting the grain and signs of wear, whilst for the metal parts of the ammunition, metallic shades and operational soiling can be applied. The pack does not contain the paints or adhesives required for assembly.
