1/32 MiG-21 MF Weighted Wheels
Hobby 2000 1/32 MiG-21 MF Weighted Wheels 3D-print is a set of 3D-printed weighted wheels designed for MiG-21 MF 1:32 scale kits. It replaces the standard plastic wheels with more realistic variants with detailed surfaces and flattened tyres to simulate the weight of the aircraft. Suitable for increasing the visual authenticity of the model.
The MiG-21 MF was one of the most widely used jet fighters of the Cold War and served in dozens of air forces around the world. The MF version (modernized with an afterburner engine) was an improved variant featuring a more powerful radar, better avionics, and an increased combat load. In service, the MiG-21 MF proved to be a fast, agile, and low-maintenance aircraft suitable for mass deployment even under conditions of limited infrastructure.
The Hobby 2000 set includes replacement wheels produced using 3D printing technology, which replace the standard injection-molded wheels found in common 1:32 scale MiG-21 MF kits. The main benefit is the realistic load effect—the tires are flattened at the point of contact with the ground, which corresponds to the actual behavior of rubber tires under the weight of the aircraft. The surface of the wheels features detailed texturing with a defined tread pattern and subtle irregularities typical of actual Soviet-made tires. The material allows for the precise reproduction of these elements, which are difficult to achieve with conventional plastic parts.
Installation is straightforward—the wheels are fitted in the same way as the original kit parts. Suitable for modelers who want to enhance the visual authenticity of their model without the need for complex modifications. The set does not include paint or adhesives.
