1/32 Me 109 K recommended for Hasegawa (Revell)
Yahu Models 1/32 Me 109 K is a photo-etched dashboard for Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 kit by Hasegawa and Revell in 1:32 scale. The board is colour coded and ready for immediate use thanks to JustStick (self-adhesive) technology, which simplifies installation without the need for gluing. Designed to enhance the detail of the cockpit of a late WW2 Luftwaffe fighter aircraft.
The Messerschmitt Bf 109K-4 was one of the last mass-produced variants of the legendary German Bf 109 fighter, which saw action throughout World War II. The K-4 variant entered service in late 1944 and was an attempt to standardize production and improve performance at a time when the Luftwaffe faced overwhelming Allied air superiority. The machine was equipped with the more powerful Daimler-Benz DB 605D (or DC) engine, which allowed it to reach speeds of over 700 km/h (700 mph), and featured cleaner fuselage lines due to the removal of some protrusions and simplified design. The cockpit remained typically cramped, but the instrument panel was fully equipped for demanding combat flights - it contained basic flight instruments, engine indicators, fuel gauges, a radio station and a sight for the on-board armament (usually one 30mm MK 108 cannon and two 13mm MG 131 machine guns). For modellers, the Bf 109K-4 is an attractive combination of late war appearance, varied colour schemes and the possibility of detailed cockpit work.
Yahu Models' photo-etched instrument panel replaces the plastic part from a Hasegawa or Revell kit and adds a significantly higher level of detail. Photo etching allows you to capture the subtle embossing of dials, labels, hands and panel texture that would remain flat or illegible in plastic. This particular plate is already colour-coordinated, meaning that the individual instruments and controls are pre-printed in the correspondingshades (black, white, yellow, red markings), eliminating the need to hand paint small details with a brush or marker. JustStick technology (self-adhesive back) further simplifies installation - simply peel off the protective film and stick the board to the designated location in the cockpit, without the use of glue or cyanoacrylate. This approach saves time and reduces the risk of damaging the fragile photo-etch during handling.
The board is designed specifically for Hasegawa and Revell's 1:32 scale kits, so it exactly matches the shape and dimensions of these manufacturers' cockpits. Installation is quick, and the result immediately improves the overall impression of the interior, especially if the modeler is planning an open cockpit or a detailed cockpit photo. Photo-etched accessories are popular with more advanced builders who want to achieve a believable look without the need for scratchbuilding or complicated masking when painting. In the case of the Bf 109K-4, a quality instrument panel is especially important, as the cockpit is one of the few visible interior spaces on a single-seat fighter.
