1/32 Macchi C.200 gunsight (San Giorgio tipo B)
Aires 1/32 Macchi C.200 gunsight (San Giorgio tipo B) Quickboost is a resin add-on designed to improve the cockpit detail of the Italian Macchi C.200 Saetta 1:32 scale fighter aircraft. It includes a precision made San Giorgio tipo B sight, which replaces the simplified plastic part of the basic kit. The package does not include paint or glue needed for installation.
The Macchi C.200 Saetta (Lightning) was the main Italian fighter aircraft in the first half of World War II and represented a significant advance over earlier biplane types. It was characterised by its robust construction, good handling and reliable Fiat A.74 radial engine, which gave it decent performance even in difficult conditions. The Saetta took part in combat in North Africa, the Balkans, the Mediterranean and on the Eastern Front, where pilots particularly appreciated its agility in turns and resistance to damage. The San Giorgio Type B sight was standard cockpit equipment and was used to accurately direct the fire of the 12.7 mm Breda-SAFAT machine guns with which the C.200 was armed.
The 1:32 scale Aires resin add-on features a detailed San Giorgio tipo B sight, replacing the often simplified or inaccurate plastic part from the basic kit. Resin allows you to capture the subtle elements of the optics, frame and mountings that are important to cockpit fidelity. Installation requires removing the original part, sanding the saddle if necessary, and gluing in the resin replacement - a standard procedure when working with aftermarket accessories. The sight should be painted with matching shades of metal and optics and highlighted with a subtle shading or patina if necessary, depending on the degree of wear selected. The package does not include the paint or adhesives required for installation.
