1/32 Lancaster I recommended for HKM

The Avro Lancaster was one of the RAF's most famous and successful heavy bombers during World War II. It was deployed from 1942 and became the backbone of British night raiding operations over Europe. With its large payload, range and ability to carry special armament (including Tallboy and Grand Slam seismic bombs), the Lancaster was involved in a number of keyoperations, from conventional bombing missions to dam attacks (Operation Chastise) and the destruction of fortified targets. For the seven-man crew, the cockpit and instrument panel provided a vital working environment where allall the controls, navigation and flight instruments necessary for long night missions over enemy territory.

Yahu Models offers the photo-etched instrument panel as an upgrade for Hong Kong Models 1:32 scale kits. The photo-etched parts bring finer relief, sharper digit detail, and a more detailed dial compared to standard plastic parts.and switches and controls, which greatly enhances the realism of the cockpit - especially when viewed up close or in lighting. The panel is designed to match the Lancaster Mk.I (or B.I/B.II as designated by HKM), the most common variant with Rolls-Royce Merlin engines.

Working with photo-etched parts requires patience and precision: parts must be carefully separated from the support frame, or bent as instructed (e.g. instrument frames or brackets), and glued with a special adhesive (cyanoacrylate or photo-etched). It is advisable to study the instructions of the kit and the accessory first, so that it is clear which plastic parts to replace and how to position the new parts correctly. Painting can be done before or after installation - acrylic paints applied with abrush or airbrush, followed by highlighting details with washes and dry brushing for wear.
