1/32 Hurricane Mk.II recommended for Revell 2022

The Hawker Hurricane Mk.II was one of the most important British fighter aircraft of World War II. Although overshadowed by the more famous Spitfire, the Hurricane did most of the work during the Battle of Britain - shooting down more enemy aircraft than all other defences combined. The Mk.II version was an improved variant with a more powerful Rolls-Royce Merlin XX engine and more powerful armament. The Mk.IIb subversion carried twelve .303 calibre machine guns, making it a devastating weapon against lightly armoured targets. The Hurricane Mk.II served on all fronts - from the defense of the British Isles to North Africa to the Far East - and gradually transitioned to offensive roles, including support of ground troops.

For modellers, the Hurricane Mk.II provides an attractive template due to its variety of colour schemes, operational markings and combat units. The cockpit is one of the most visible parts of the completed model, especially with the cowling open, and it is here that the quality of detail becomes apparent. A plastic instrument panel from a conventional kit usually lacks the subtlety and depth offered by photo-etched parts.

Yahu Models supplies a replacement instrument panel specifically designed for the Revell 2022 Hawker Hurricane Mk.IIb 1:32 scale kit. Photo-etched technology allows you to capture thin instrument bezels, dials, labels and other small elements that plastic injection molding cannot faithfully reproduce. The panel consists of several layers - a base support layer defines the shape and depth, while additional layers add detail to the dials, hands and controls. The result is a realistic appearance with minimal need for additional painting. Installation requires carefully separating the parts from the photo-etched panel, bending as directed, and gluing them into the cockpit of the kit. It is recommended to use instant glue or special adhesive for photo-etched parts. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
