1/32 Do 335 A-12 Pfeil

The Dornier Do 335 A-12 "Pfeil" (Arrow) was developed as a two-seat trainer version of one of the most advanced piston aircraft of World War II. The design was based on the Do 335 A-0, but had a redesigned fuselage that allowed the installation of a second cockpit for the instructor. This was located just behind the pilot under an extended cockpit overlay. This modification required the removal of the dorsal keel and a partial change in the aerodynamic profile of the rear of the aircraft.

Like the combat version, the Do 335 A-12 was powered by a pair of Daimler-Benz DB 603A engines, one located in the nose and the other in the rear of the fuselage. Thanks to this unique solution, the machine reached an extraordinary speed of over 700 km/h, while maintaining excellent stability and maneuverability. Although the A-12 was intended only for pilot training, it was a full-size aircraft capable of combat deployment. However, only a few examples were built by the end of the war, as production was interrupted by the collapse of the Third Reich.

The 1/32 scale Zoukei Mura kit from the "Super Wing Series" brings a precise rendering of the internal fuselage structure, both DB 603 engines, cockpit for pilot and instructor and all key structural elements.
