1/32 B-24 J recommended for HobbyBoss
Yahu Models 1/32 B-24J is a photo-etched instrument panel for Hobby Boss Consolidated B-24J Liberator 1:32 scale kit. The add-on replaces the plastic panel with a more detailed design featuring instruments and dials, enhancing the look of the cockpit of the WWII-era American heavy bomber. Requires basic experience in installing photo-etched parts. Package does not include paint or adhesives needed for installation.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was one of the most important and most numerous American heavy bombers of World War II. It was designed as a modern four-engine machine with long range and high payload capacity, capable of engaging strategic targets deep in the enemy rear. From bombing industrial complexes in Europe, to anti-ship patrols over the Atlantic, to missions in the Pacific, the B-24 was used on every battlefield. The B-24J version was the most numerous variant with improved armament and optics for the bomber, produced in several plants simultaneously. The crew was characterized by a cramped and functional cockpit full of instruments, controls, and communications equipment that reflected the complexity of operating such a machine.
This photo-etched accessory from Yahu Models is designed for the 1:32 scale Hobby Boss kit and replaces the standard plastic instrument panel with a more detailed design. The photo etch allows individual dials, indicators, switches and labels to be displayed with a finesse that cannot be achieved with conventional injection moulded plastic. The panel is designed to match the instrument layout in the B-24J cockpit and improve the overall impression of the interior, especially if you plan to build the model with an open cockpit view.
Installing the photo-etched parts requires care - the parts are bent to fit the folds, glued in a secondm adhesive or special photo-etch sealants and are often combined with the original plastic parts of the kit. It is advisable to first read the instructions of both the kit and the accessory to see which plastic parts are being replaced and how the new parts are attached. The panel can be further accentuated by subtle shading, painting the dials or applying transparent parts (if included) to add realism. The 1:32 scale provides plenty of room for detailed work and the result is easily visible even without a magnifying glass.
The package does not include paint or adhesives needed for installation.
