Requires basic experience working with resin. Package does not include paint or adhesives needed for installation.
The Consolidated B-24 Liberator was one of the most important American heavy bombers of World War II and reached full combat maturity in the B-24D version. It was produced in greater numbers than any other American bomber and served on every front from Europe to North Africa to the Pacific. The B-24D featured a distinctive high tail, a twin-axle landing gear, and most importantly, a wing with a high span-to-thickness ratio that gave it great range and payload capacity. The B-24's cockpit was spacious, but at the same time filled with instrumentation typical of a four-engine bomber - the pilot's panel contained dozens of alarms, switches, levers, and engine controls that the crew had to continuously monitor and operate during long missions.
Yahu Models offers a resin dashboard accessory designed for HobbyBoss kits in 1:32 scale, a large scale where the quality of interior detail is particularly important. The plastic parts of the base kit usually show the instruments simplified or flat; the resin aftermarket allows them to be replaced with a finer relief variantfem, legible dials and a more precise layout of controls corresponding to historical photographs and technical documentation. The part is cast in resin, which requires careful separation from the casting block, possible cleaning and sanding of the contact surfaces and the use of a suitable adhesive (e.g. The adhesive must be applied using a suitable adhesive (e.g. instant or two-component adhesive). Recommended for modelers with aftermarket experience and interior detail work.
Installation involves removing the original plastic panel from the kit and replacing it with a resin part. The panel can be further enhanced by colouring the individual instruments (black dials, white or yellow hands, coloured indicatorstors), by applying decals with dials (if included or available separately) and by subtle shading to emphasize depth. The result is a significantly more realistic view of the cockpit, which you will especially appreciate when presenting the model with an open viewport or when photographing the interior. The package does not include paint or adhesives needed for installation.
