1/32 AD-6 (A-1H) SKYRAIDER

The Douglas AD-6 Skyraider, later redesignated the A-1H, was one of the pinnacles of piston attack aircraft development. It was designed at the end of World War II as a successor to the SBD Dauntless type, but did not enter service until after the end of the war. Its powerful Wright R-3350 Duplex-Cyclone engine of over 2,700 hp and rugged design allowed it to carry an extraordinary armament of up to 3,600 kg of bombs, rockets or torpedoes.

The Skyraider became especially famous during the Korean and Vietnam wars, where it excelled in long flight times, precision attacks and the ability to withstand even heavy damage. The AD-6 (A-1H) version was designed primarily for naval and ground attack operations and served in both the U.S. Navy and U.S. Air Force. The aircraft became legendary for its versatility - it could carry a wide variety of bombs, napalm containers, and ballisticfor "Sandy" missions, protecting helicopters while retrieving downed pilots.
