The Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IX is one of the most important "working" versions of the Spitfire, and the late Mk.IXc (late) along with the Mk.XVI represent machines from a more advanced phase of the war, when emphasis was placed on performance, armament and operational practicality. In 1:24 scale, the cockpit is a prominent feature of the model and the instrument panel is a detail that immediately draws the eye - and also often determines whether the cockpit looks realistic or flat.

The Yahu Models kit includes a pre-painted etched instrument panel designed for the Spitfire IX late / XVI variants. The etching is factory finished (colourful, with sharply drawn dials, subtle markings and a believable look evokes), so there is no need for laborious repainting of small instruments or stacking multiple layers of decals. On such a large scale, the clarity of the print and the 'readability' of the panel stand out even when viewed in the cab.

The add-on is designed for Airfix kits and is recommended for Airfix Supermarine Spitfire Mk.IXc late and Mk.XVI in 1:24 scale. The assembly is designed as a JustStick: usually you just need to detach the part, dry test the seating and glue it in place. For best results, it is worth checking the original plastic panel - if it has significant protruding details, it may be worth gently flattening them so that the etch sits cleanly, without gaps, and does not appear unnecessarily layered.

The result is a cockpit with a significantly more realistic instrument panel that will look great with the cockpit overlay open and when the finished model is displayed.
