The ZiS-5V was a Soviet three-ton truck developed in the 1930s as a simplified wartime variant of the standard ZiS-5. Its simplicity, reliability and low maintenance made it one of the most widely used vehicles of the Red Army. The 5V version had a wooden cab and other simplified features that facilitated mass production during the war.
After the end of World War II, a number of these vehicles were handed over to the Polish Army, where they served in a variety of roles, from transporting material to logistical support tasks. The vehicles bore specific markings and paintwork corresponding to post-war Polish military service.
