The TG-10D Peregrine / L-33 Solo 1/72nd scale model by Kovozávody Prostějov represents the Czechoslovak single-seat training Glider, which was produced as Flight L-33 Solo and later included in the armament of the US Air Force (USAF) under the designation TG-10D Peregrine. This glider was used by aero clubs and military aviation for pilot training. The kit contains detailed plastic parts and decals for both Czechoslovak and American variants. The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
The L-33 Solo was developed in the 1990s by the Czechoslovak company Let Kunovice as a modern single-seat trainer glider for basic and advanced pilot training. Thanks to its lightweight construction, aerodynamic design and good maneuverability, it has become popular among aeroclubs throughout Europe.
The aircraft also gained attention outside Europe and was included in the US Air Force (USAF) training programs, where it received the designation TG-10D Peregrine. It was used at the USAF Air Force Academy for basic training of future military pilots, who were taught the basics of gliding before transitioning to powered aircraft.
