1/72 SAAB Safir „in Nordic Services“

The Saab 91 Safir is a Swedish single-engine trainer that first flew on 20 November 1945. In the post-war era it became a popular type due to its versatility and suitability for training and normal operation, and gradually became used not only in Sweden but also in other countries. The aircraft was produced as both a three-seater and a four-seater, and production took place at Saab in Linköping and under licence from De Schelde in Dordrecht, the Netherlands. Production lasted from 1946-1966 and a total of 323 units were produced.

Interestingly, there were also experimental versions which were used to test the arrow wing at low speeds. These tests helped to validate aerodynamic solutions for the Swedish jet fighter.Saab 29 and Saab 32 jet fighters, so the Safir also contributed to the development of more modern combat types.

The finished model has approximate dimensions of 147mm wingspan and 108mm length. The manufacturer states the difficulty as 3. The package does not include the paints or glues needed for assembly.
