1/72 JAS-39 Twin Seater

Since the late 1990s, the Saab JAS 39 Gripen has become a symbol of the modernisation of the Swedish Air Force and one of Europe's most successful multi-role fighter aircraft. The two-seat variant was developed in response to the need for advanced pilot training, while retaining the combat capabilities of the single-seat version. It thus offered not only an effective training platform, but also a full-fledged capability for deployment in air superiority, reconnaissance or precision-guided attack missions. Thanks to its powerful engine, maximum speed of Mach 2 and flexible choice of armament, the Gripen has also established itself in the international market and is in service with several other air forces around the world.

The Italeri JAS-39 Twin Seater kit in 1/72 scale captures the sleek silhouette of the Swedish aircraft with its distinctive canard layout and modern airframe shape. The model is 196 mm long and the difficulty 2 makes it accessible to both beginners and more advanced modelers. A sheet of stickers is included to allow four different versions to be built, while colour instructions make it easy to build and choose the correct camouflage scheme. The details of the airframe, cockpit and underhung armament look believable and the kit provides a solid base for a clean display build and diorama with modern technology.
