1/72 Gloster Meteor T.7
The FRROM Gloster Meteor T.7 in 1/72 scale is a British two-seat trainer jet from the post-war period. The T.7 variant was used to train jet pilots and was used not only by the RAF but also by several foreign air forces. The kit includes decals for a 1957 Israeli machine with invasion stripes, a 1953 French aircraft and a 1958 Belgian machine. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Gloster Meteor was the first British jet fighter to enter operational service during World War II. After the war, it was continually upgraded and a two-seat version, the T.7, was developed for training jet pilots. The first prototype flew in 1948 and the T.7 quickly became the standard trainer type for the British RAF. This model was exported and served in a number of other countries such as Belgium, France and Israel, where it was also used in combat conditions.
The 1/72nd scale FRROM plastic kit features detailed cockpit treatment for both crew members, fine panel engraving and faithfully executed landing gear. Included are decals for three specific machines: the Israeli Meteor T Mk.7 "Black 15" with black and yellow stripes from the Suez Crisis in January 1957, a French F9 aircraft coded 30-MY from the 2/30 "Camargue" unit at Tours in 1953, and a Belgian Meteor ED042 from the Coxide Fighter Pilot School in 1958. With these choices, the kit offers the opportunity to build models from different countries and time periods.
The package does not include the paints or glues needed for assembly.
