1/72 F-5A Freedom Fighter exhaust nozzles

The Northrop F-5A Freedom Fighter was a light supersonic fighter aircraft developed in the United States in the early 1960s. The design was based on the requirement for a simple, inexpensive and easy-to-maintain machine intended primarily for export to allied countries under the military aid program. The F-5A was characterized by its reliability, good flight characteristics, and easy operation, making it a popular type with airmen around the world, from Southeast Asia to the Middle East to Latin America. In service, it has proven itself in both fighter and light attack roles.

The Aires resin add-on brings improved exhaust nozzles from the General Electric J85 engines, which form a prominent feature of the F-5A's rear fuselage. Standard plastic kit parts are often simplified or lack the fine details of the nozzles' internal structure. This addition offers a more accurate shape, sharper edges, and a truer representation of the internal ribbing and textures, which adds to the overall level of the model. Working with resin requires careful separation of the parts from the casting blocks, cleaning and any minor adjustments to achieve accurate assembly.
