1/72 F-16CJ block 50 exhaust nozzle - opened
Aires 1/72 F-16CJ Block 50 Exhaust Nozzle - Opened is a 1:72 scale resin add-on designed to detail the exhaust nozzle of modern F-16CJ Fighting Falcon kits in Block 50. Included is an open (flared) nozzle with finely detailed internal blades and structure that replaces the standard plastic part and greatly enhances the realism of the rear of the model. Suitable for more advanced modelers who want to achieve more detailed workmanship. Package does not include paint or adhesives needed for installation.
The F-16CJ Fighting Falcon in the Block 50 version represents one of the more advanced variants of this versatile single-engine fighter aircraft that has been the backbone of the U.S. and many allied air forces since the 1980s. Specifically optimized for the Suppression of Enemy Air Defenses (SEAD) role, the Block 50 is equipped with highGeneral Electric F110-GE-129 engine, which provides it with increased thrust and improved performance characteristics. This engine is also reflected in the appearance of the rear of the aircraft - the nozzle is wider at higher powerThis is a typical operating condition for take-off, landing or combat flight at full power.
The Aires resin add-on is designed for modelers who want to replace the often simplistic plastic kit nozzle with a more accurate and detailed version. Included are finely molded inner nozzle blades (called petals), outer ring and structural elements that match the actual F110 engine design. The open nozzle position gives the model a more dynamic appearance and better represents the operational state of the aircraft in action. Installation requires careful removal of the original plastic nozzle, modification of the rear fuselage and bonding of the resin parts - the use of instant glue or two-part epoxy is recommended. The resin surface should be lightly sanded with a fine abrasive and degreased before painting.
Dark metallic shades (steel, titanium) are typically used for nozzle staining, often with thermal colouring effects (blue, purple, golden tones) depending on the intensity of engine operation. The outer ring tends to be darker, the inner blades lighter with colour gradients. The combination of dry brush, airbrush techniques and pigments allows for a realistic look.
The add-on is compatible with common 1:72 scale F-16CJ Block 50 kits (e.g. Tamiya, Academy, Kinetic). The package does not include paint or glue needed for installation.
