IBG 1/72 Cromwell Mk IV British Tank (Hull Type C) - Deep Wading is a detailed model of a British medium tank from the end of World War II, in the deep wading configuration used in invasion operations. The kit offers accurate shapes, fine surface detailing and the characteristic wading equipment typical of the Normandy landings preparations. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Cromwell Mk IV was one of the main British medium tanks deployed in the later stages of World War II. With its high speed, solid armour and 75mm gun, it provided British troops with aa balanced machine suitable for breakthrough operations and subsequent manoeuvres in open terrain. The C-hull variant was one of the most widely used and played an important role, particularly after the Normandy landings in 1944. For the invasion itself, many Cromwells were equipped with the so-called. In the invasion, many Cromwellians were fitted with a deep wading kit - a special set of exhaust and intake ducts that allowed the tanks to safely exit the landing craft even in deeper water and overcome the surf without damaging the engine.
The 1/72 scale IBG kit provides an accurate rendition of the marked Hull Type C variant, including the characteristic deep-wading attachments. The model is finished with fine negative paneling, true to hull and turret proportions, and detailed engine and rigging features. The design reflects the operational appearance of the tanks during the Normandy invasion, allowing for an authentic model appropriate to the historical deployment. The parts are cleanly cast, well moulded and suitable for both direct construction and advanced modellers looking for a realistic result with the possibility of a patina typical of the European battlefield.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
