The BT-67 is a significantly upgraded version of the famous DC-3 transport aircraft developed by the Canadian company Basler Turbo Conversions. The aircraft is equipped with two Pratt & Whitney Canada PT6A-67R turboprop engines, a lengthened fuselage, new avionics and structural modifications for increased durability and performance. These modifications make the BT-67 widely used in difficult conditions - including in polar regions where it often operates with skis instead of wheeled landing gear.
The 1/72nd scale BT-67 "Polar" kit from A&A Models features a model of this Arctic version with ski undercarriage. It includes plastic parts with fine detailing, new parts for additional equipment and accurate decals to portray the aircraft in typical polar deployment. The model impresses not only with the unusual appearance of the classic DC-3, but also with the unique technical solution of the modern conversion.
The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
