1/72 Bedford MWC Water Bowser Truck (Late production)
IBG 1/72 Bedford MWC Water Bowser Truck (Late production) is a 1/72 scale plastic kit of a British truck. The Bedford MWC was a special water tanker designed for transporting water and became an indispensable means of logistical support for British troops during World War II. The late production run featured minor modifications to the cab and equipment to reflect experience in the field. The model offers detailed treatment of the tanker hull as well as a realistic driver's cab.
The Bedford MWC was developed from the Bedford MW light goods wagon, which formed the backbone of the British supply force in World War II. The MWC variant was equipped with a tank capacity of approximately 450 gallons (over 2,000 litres) and was primarily used to transport drinking water for soldiers and troops deployed in the field. Due to the variety of deployment conditions - from the North African desert to the European battlefield - the MWC tankers became an indispensable part of British Army logistics.
Late production versions brought modifications to the cab and equipment to reflect operational experience in combat. These vehicles were reliable, easily repairable and, due to their versatility, were widely used throughout the British Army and Allied forces.
IBG's 1/72nd scale kit features a detailed model of the Bedford MWC with a realistic tank, fine surface detail and driver's cab. Its size makes it ideal for dioramas, where it can faithfully complement scenes of Allied equipment, whether in the desert, Italy or northwest Europe. The model provides the opportunity to create an exact replica of one of the inconspicuous but crucial assets for wartime operations.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
