1/48 Messerschmitt 262 HGIII "V-Tail" - Amusing Hobby
Amusing Hobby 1/48 Me 262 HG III "V-Tail" is a plastic kit of a fictitious experimental version of a German jet fighter from the end of WWII. This variant belongs to the concepts of the so-called Hochgeschwindigkeit (HG), i.e. high-speed projects, and features the characteristic V-shaped tailplane.
The Messerschmitt Me 262 was the world's first mass-produced jet fighter aircraft and went down in history as a groundbreaking design of World War II. Already during its introduction into service, considerations were underway to modernize and modify it as part of the HG - Hochgeschwindigkeit (high speed) program. The aim was to increase speed and flight characteristics by modifying the fuselage, wings and tail surfaces.
The Me 262 HG III project represented one of the most radical studies. In addition to the redesigned aerodynamic shapes, it was to carry distinctive V-shaped tail surfaces to reduce drag and improve stability at high speeds. However, this concept never reached the prototype stage and remained on the drawing boards.
Amusing Hobby's 1/48 scale kit brings this fascinating "what if" project to life in the form of a detailed model. Offering a realistically rendered fuselage, wings and landing gear, it allows modelers to build a unique variant that shows what the legendary Me 262 might have looked like had the war continued and the project been brought to completion.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
