1/48 HP.52 Hampden B.Mk.I WWII British bomber (100% new molds)

The Handley Page HP.52 Hampden B.Mk.I was built in response to the British Air Ministry's 1932 specifications calling for a modern fast bomber. The first prototype flew in the spring of 1936 and the aircraft soon demonstrated exceptional flight characteristics - speeds of up to 426 km/h and a bomb capacity of over 1,800 kg marked a significant step up from the biplane bombers of the time. It entered RAF service in 1938 and by the outbreak of war in 1939 was already operating under Bomber Command. Hampdens took part in the first raids on Germany, night bombing operations, mine action over the North Sea and risky attacks on naval targets.

Although their narrow fuselage limited crew space and defensive armament was not ideal, Hampdens played a significant role until 1942, when they were gradually replaced by more modern types. Some of the machines were transferred to Coastal Command, where they served as torpedo-carrying variants in attacks on shipping in northern waters. The Hampden thus represents a transition between the pre-war bomber concept and the more modern machines that subsequently determined the shape of Allied air power.

The 1/48 scale model features approximately 350 parts, finely detailed fuselage and wing surfaces, detailed cabin interiors, undercarriage shafts and the characteristic shapes of the slender fuselage. The large wingspan and distinctive silhouette make the model look very realistic and ideal forideal for British aviation enthusiasts and collectors of early WWII bombers.

The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
