1/48 Fairey Barracuda Mk.II undercarriage covers
Aires 1/48 Fairey Barracuda Mk.II undercarriage covers Quickboost is a resin add-on designed to improve the detail of the undercarriage of the British Fairey Barracuda Mk.II torpedo bomber in 1:48 scale. The kit includes undercarriage covers to replace or supplement the standard plastic parts of the kit and increase the fidelity of the model. Installation requires basic experience working with resin, adhesive suitable for this material, and possible alignment of the castings. Paints are not included.
The Fairey Barracuda was a British deck-based torpedo-bomber aircraft that served with the Fleet Air Arm during World War II. The Mk.II version was the most common variant with an improved Rolls-Royce Merlin 32 engine and was deployed primarily from aircraft carriers in operations against enemy vessels and coastal targets. The Barracuda took part in attacks on the German battleship Tirpitz and operations in the Pacific, among others. The design was a high-winged machine with a distinctive tail arrangement and extensive undercarriage covers that covered the undercarriage shafts when extended.
The Aires/Quickboost resin add-on provides a more detailed design of these undercarriage shaft covers, which are often simplified or absent in the original plastic kits. The kit allows modelers to achieve a more accurate representation of this engineering detail and increase the overall fidelity of the model. The resin parts require standard preparation - aligning the casting blocks, checking the fit and using a suitable adhesive (such as CA or epoxy). The add-on is compatible with Fairey Barracuda Mk.II 1:48 scale kits. Paints are not included.
