1/48 DB-7B Boston III - HK Models

The Douglas DB-7 Boston was one of the most successful Allied light bombers during World War II. Originally designed for the US Air Force as the A-20 Havoc, the type was soon exported to the UK, where it was designated the Boston and became an important part of the Royal Air Force's armament. The DB-7B Boston III version was an improved variant with more powerful Wright R-2600 engines and improved armament that enabling effective daylight bombing missions, attacks on ground targets, coastal patrol and tactical reconnaissance. The machine featured a rugged design, good maneuverability for its size, and the ability to carry a decent bomb load. In British service, the Boston III proved particularly effective in operations over northern France, Belgium and Holland, where it made precision attacks on strategic targets - railway junctions, ports, airfields and industrial sites. In addition to the RAF, it was also used by other Allied air forces including the Soviet Air Force (under the Lend-Lease programme) and Free French forces.
