1/35 Vehicles of the D.A.K
ICM 1/35 Vehicles of the D.A.K is a kit representing selected vehicles of the German Afrikakorps from World War II, including the Mercedes-Benz L3000 truck, the s.E.Pkw Kfz.70 off-road vehicle with a twin-bullet launcher, and the light liaison vehicle le.gl.Einheits-Pkw Kfz.2. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
Deutsches Afrikakorps (D.A.K.), the German Afrikakorps, was formed in the winter of 1941 from Wehrmacht units for deployment in the North African campaign. From February 1942, together with the Italian XXI Corps, it formed part of Panzergruppe "Afrika" under the command of Erwin Rommel. The unit had a wide range of combat and support vehicles, essential for operations in the harsh conditions of the desert.
Among the vehicles deployed was the Mercedes-Benz L3000, a three-ton truck with a 4×2 configuration, used to transport supplies and material. For infantry transport, the s.E.Pkw Kfz.70, a version of the Army's Horch 108 Type 40, was used, the hull of which could be fitted with a Zwillingssockel 36 rifle with two 7.92 mm MG 34 machine guns for anti-aircraft defence and fire support. In addition, the light all-terrain vehicle le.gl.Einheits-Pkw, manufactured by Stoewer, BMW and Hanomag, was used, including a version of the Kfz.2 - a three-seater liaison car equipped with a Torn.Fu.b1 radio station.
ICM's 1/35th scale kit provides detailed models of these iconic vehicles, suitable for creating realistic dioramas of the North African campaign. Thanks to the high level of detail and authentic workmanship, it will satisfy even the most demanding modellers.
The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
