1/35 T-55A Late Mod. 1965 - Miniart

The T-55A, in production since the mid-1960s, is a modernized version of the proven Soviet T-55 medium tank. The 1965 version included significant improvements over earlier models, particularly in the area of axle protectionAmong other things, the addition of nuclear, biological and chemical weapons (NBC) protection. The tank was equipped with the D-10T2S 100 mm calibre gun, an upgraded sighting system and a modified internal layout.

The T-55A played a vital role in the Warsaw Pact's defence strategy and was mass exported to dozens of countries, where it took part in numerous conflicts from the Middle East to Africa. It was a symbol of Soviet military power during the Cold War and remained in service around the world for many decades.
