1/35 Raupenschlepper Ost RSO/01 w/Wooden Shelter

The Raupenschlepper Ost, known as RSO for short, was a German tracked tractor developed during World War II specifically for deployment on the Eastern Front. The Wehrmacht faced enormous mobility problems in the Soviet Union, as conventional wheeled vehicles were often stuck in mud or snow. Based on the experience of 1941, the RSO was developed as a simple, lightweight and inexpensive tractor, inspired by Soviet agricultural tractors.

The first variant, the RSO/01, was equipped with an open cab made of wooden construction, which was easy to build even in makeshift conditions. The machine was used for hauling guns, transporting supplies and weapons, especially in difficult terrain where other means of transport became inoperable. Thanks to its reliability, the RSO spread to all branches of the Wehrmacht and became a symbol of the German Army's adaptation to the harsh conditions of the Eastern Front.
