1/35 Mine-Roller KMT-9 - Miniart
The 1/35th scale model of the KMT-9 mine countermeasure engineer's kit depicts a heavy mine cylinder of Soviet design, designed to clear roads and areas in front of a tank. Detailed construction including arms, discs and mechanism. Package does not include paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
The KMT-9 was a heavy Soviet mine cylinder designed for use on modern tanks, notably the T-64, T-72 and T-80, and developed during the Cold War. Its main purpose was to destroy anti-tank mines by the pressure of heavy steel discs before the vehicle itself came within range. Unlike lighter types of mine-laying devices, it was a robust system that was suspended from the front of the tank by a support frame with arms and hydraulic mechanisms. The KMT-9 was particularly useful in open terrain and on access roads where mine threats to armoured vehicles were likely.
MiniArt's 1/35th scale kit is a stand-alone model of this equipment and excels in accurately depicting the complex construction, including support arms, rollers, discs and mounts. The model can be assembled to complement T-64, T-72 or T-80 series tanks, adding an extra dimension of realism to your Soviet or post-Soviet dioramas. The kit also includes photo-etched parts to increase the level of detail. The KMT-9 is a technically interesting feature that shows the sophistication of Soviet engineer technology in providing battlefield clearance.
The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
