1/35 LAND UTILITY TRACTOR STANDARD N “Green” Mod. 1940-41

The Standard N was one of the tractors that made a significant contribution to the modernisation of the British economy in the late 1930s and early 1940s. Its simple design, robust engine and easy maintenance made it a reliable machine for a wide range offor a wide range of tasks, from ploughing and load handling to menial tasks in smaller industrial operations. With the outbreak of the Second World War, this type began to be used in considerable numbers by variousby government forces, for example, at airports, in service workshops or in the movement of light materials. Machines intended for wartime deployment often received dark green paint and minor modifications according to the specific needs of individual workplaces.

The 1940-41 model version represents a slightly upgraded version of the Standard N tractor, which included modifications to the hood, some elements of the engine cowling and operating equipment. Tractors from this period were characterised by their reliability in harsh conditions, and therefore quickly became widespread in both agricultural and civil war infrastructure. They were often seen in RAF bases, ammunition depots or ports, where they served as indispensable auxiliary machines.
