1/35 British Centurion Action X
Amusing Hobby 1/35 British Centurion Action X is a 1/35th scale plastic model construction kit featuring an experimental version of the famous British Centurion tank. This version was developed as a prototype with a redesigned turret to offer better ballistic protection and a more modern design.
The Centurion tank was one of Britain's most successful post-war tanks, which entering service at the end of the Second World War and serving for many decades in armies around the world. Its design allowed for a number of upgrades and prototypes, one of which was the Centurion Action X.
This prototype was built in the 1950s as a test platform with a redesigned turret that was intended to greatly improve ballistic resistance. The turret was characterized by smooth surfaces and sloping armor that better deflected projectiles. The aim was to test new design principles for future main battle tanks. Although the Action X did not make it into series production, its findings contributed to the development of subsequent generations of British tanks, including the later Chieftain type.
