1/32 TF-104G & CF-104D & F-104DJ/F Starfighter wheel bay
Aires 1/32 TF-104G & CF-104D & F-104DJ/F Starfighter wheel bay detail set is a resin set designed to improve the detail of landing gear wheel bays for 1:32 scale plastic kits of Lockheed F-104 Starfighter. The set covers the two-seat versions of the TF-104G (trainer), CF-104D (Canadian trainer) and F-104DJ/F (Japanese trainer/fighter). It replaces simplified plastic parts with more precise resin castings with finer construction, piping and other features. Requires basic experience working with resin. Package does not include paint or adhesives.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was a supersonic fighter aircraft designed in the 1950s in response to the Korean War experience, where the need for a simple, fast, high-performance machine became apparent. Characterized by its slender fuselage and short wings, it became a symbol of an era when speed and climbability were a priority. The two-seat versions were primarily used for pilot training and type conversion - the TF-104G was a training variant used mainly by NATO (primarily the Luftwaffe), the CF-104D was the Canadian two-seat version, and the F-104DJ/F was a Japanese training and fighter type operated by the Japanese Self-Defense Air Force.
The Aires resin add-on kit provides a more detailed design of the undercarriage shafts, which are often simplified in standard plastic kits. The set includes more accurate castings of the shaft structure, hydraulic lines, wiring and other technical features that are visible when the landing gear is open. The parts are intended to replace the original plastic parts and require standard resin work - careful separation from the casting blocks, cleaning and bonding with instant glue or epoxy. Suitable for builders who want to increase the level of detail in their 1:32 scale F-104 Starfighter model.
