1/32 F-104G/J/S & CF-104 Starfighter wheel bay
Aires 1/32 F-104G/J/S & CF-104 Starfighter wheel bay is a resin detail set for upgrading Italeri's 1:32 scale wheel bays. The kit replaces plastic parts with more accurate resin castings and increases the detail of the supersonic fighter.of the Lockheed F-104 Starfighter in G versions (Luftwaffe multirole fighter-bomber and other(Japanese JASDF fighter interceptor), S (Italian interceptor with improvedradar and missile armament) and the CF-104 (Canadian version for NATO tactical nuclear strike). The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Lockheed F-104 Starfighter was one of the fastest and most distinctive fighter aircraft of the Cold War. Its design was based on the "guided missile with pilot" philosophy - a narrow wing, an elongated fuselage, and a powerful engine allowed it to reach speeds of over Mach 2, making it the ideal interceptor for quick hits against enemy bombers. Despite controversy over the small wing area, the F-104 became one of the most successful export fighters of its time, serving in the air forces of many NATO and non-NATO countries. The F-104G, F-104J, F-104S and CF-104 variants represent different adaptations of the basic design to meet the specific operational requirements of individual users.
The F-104G was a multirole version developed primarily for the West German Luftwaffe, where it replaced older types such as the F-84 and served as both an interceptor and a fighter-bomber for ground attack. It was produced under license by a consortium of European manufacturers including Messerschmitt. The F-104J was the Japanese interceptor version operated by the Japan Air Self-Defense Force (JASDF) as Japan's first supersonic fighter. The F-104S was an Italian development aimed at the interceptor role with a strengthened engine, improved radar and increasedm number of air-to-air missile mounts, making it an effective tool for NATO air defence in southern Europe. The CF-104 was the Canadian version optimized for low-altitude penetration attack with tactical nuclear weapons as part of Canada's commitment to NATO in Europe during the 1960s. 1980s; these machines were equipped with US nuclear bombs (probably Mk 28) and served with RCAF units in West Germany until the withdrawal of nuclear weapons in the 1980s.
Detailed set of Aires in 1:32 is designed to enhance the Italeri kit and focuses on the undercarriage shafts - an area that is often simplified in plastic models, although it is clearly visible in open chassis. The resin parts replace the original plastic components with more accurate castings with finer relief of hydraulic lines, wiring, structural elements and surface details. Using this kit allows modelers to achieve a higher level of realism, especially when presenting a model with an openchassis covers or when detailing technical areas with weathering (oil spots, wear and tear, dirt from operation). The 1:32 scale provides ample room for fine detail and is popular with builders focused on accuracy and visual impact. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
