1/32 Bf 109G-2/4/6 air intake
Aires 1/32 Macchi MC.202 late & C.205V serie III gunsight (San Giorgio tipo C - late) is a resin add-on precision sight for the cockpit of Italian fighter aircraft Macchi MC.202 Folgore (late version) and Macchi C.205V Veltro serie III in 1:32 scale. Includes a San Giorgio Type C sight in the late version, which replaces the simplified plastic part from the kit and increases cockpit detail. Suitable for advanced modelers with experience working with resin. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Macchi MC.202 Folgore and Macchi C.205V Veltro were among the most successful Italian fighter aircraft of World War II. The MC.202 was an upgrade of the earlier MC.200 Saetta by installing the more powerful German Daimler-Benz DB 601 engine, which greatly improved flight performance and competitiveness against Allied machines. The Folgore ("Lightning") proved its worth in North African airspace and over the Mediterranean, and became the backbone of the Italian fighter force in 1941-1943. C.205The Veltro ("Greyhound") represented the next evolutionary stage with an even more powerful DB 605 engine and reinforced armament, which enabled it to counter even the more advanced Allied types. Both machines shared the sleek aerodynamic shape and quality workmanship typical of the Italian school of design.
The San Giorgio tipo C sight in the late variant was the standard reflective sight installed in the cockpits of the late MC.202 and the series III C.205V. It consisted of an optical head with reflective glass on which an illuminated sight cross was projected to the pilot, and an adjustable bracket mounted on the instrument panel. The later version differed in minor design modifications and the shape of the optic housing from earlier versions. In practice, it allowed for more accurate fire control during aerial dogfights and was one of the key elements of the cockpit equipment.
The 1:32 scale Aires resin add-on replaces the simplified plastic part of a kit sight (typically from Hasegawa, Italeri or other manufacturers) with a precisely shaped replica with finely detailed optics, mount and controls. Resin allows you to capture the thin edges, small protrusions and sharp transitions that are often simplified or missing altogether in plastic parts. Installation requires careful separation of the part from the filler block, alignment, any minor adjustments to the dashboard, and bonding with instant adhesive or two-part epoxy. Recommended for advanced modelers with experience working with resin and cockpit detailing.
After installation, the sight can be completed with fine shading, highlighting of metal surfaces (steel, aluminum), additionalAlternatively, simulate transparent reflective glass with clear paint or special transparent media. The addition significantly increases the authenticity and visual impression of the cockpit, especially when the cover is open or when presenting the model with lighting. The package does not include the paint or adhesives needed for assembly.
