The Nakajima Ki-115 Tsurugi was an emergency Japanese-developed suicide bomber designed exclusively for Kamikaze attacks at the end of World War II. Its development was commissioned in February 1945 with the aim of creating the simplest, cheapest and easiest to produce machine that could carry a medium bomb under the fuselage and was powered by the various types of radial engines available at the time. The design was robust enough to withstand the high loads of dive attacks. The maximum speed was around 515 km/h, and it was intended to be deployed against the Allied invasion forces. However, the Ki-115 Tsurugi saw limited combat and remained a symbol of Japan's desperate strategy in the last phase of the war.
The Eduard 1/48 scale kit brings a limited edition of this unique machine. It features 3 camouflage schemes, colour etched parts, masks and detailed plastic parts. Thanks to the high quality of workmanship and historical significance, it is an attractive model for all those interested in Japanese aviation and specific machines of the end of WWII.
The package does not include paint or glue needed for assembly.
