With over 36.000 produced during the course of the Great Patriotic Wa the II-2 represented the Red Army Air Force's Principle strike force. Known to it's pilots by the diminutive Iiyusha the aircraft played a crucial role o the Eastern Front, Stalin himself referring to the type as essential to the Red ARmy as air and bread.
