1/72 C-47A Skytrain - Polish Dakota

The Douglas C-47 Skytrain, a military variant of the civilian DC-3, was one of the most important transport aircraft of World War II. It was used to transport troops, supplies and wounded, and its deployment ranged from Europe across the Pacific to North Africa. After the war, it continued its career in the armed forces of many nations and its ruggedness and reliability made it a backbone of post-war military and civilian transport.

The C-47 came to Poland after 1945 and was known as the Dakota. The Polish machines were flown by both the military and LOT civil airlines, transporting passengers, material and mail. Some served until the 1960s, becoming an important symbol of the post-war period and the revival of Polish aviation.

The 1/72 scale IBG kit uses high quality Hobby Boss plastic parts and adds a brand new decal sheet. This offers nine different camouflage and marking schemes for Polish Dakotas, from military post-war machines to civilian ones. Complete stencils are also included to add authenticity to the model. Thanks to this, it is possible to build a highly realistic replica of an aircraft that belongs to the legends of post-war Polish aviation.

The package does not include the paints or glues needed for assembly.
