1/700 German submarine type XXI U-2540
RCsubs German submarine Type XXI U-2540 1/700 is a highly detailed resin kit of a German Type XXI submarine from the end of World War II, with a precisely sculpted hull, detailed turret and the possibility to reveal the interior. The package does not include the paint or glue needed for assembly.
The Type XXI submarine, referred to as the "Electroboat", represented a technological breakthrough in submarine design by increasingincreased submergence and extensive underwater residence time made possible by powerful batteries and a new type of hull. Named Wilhelm Bauer after the war, U-2540 was refurbished and now serves as a museum exhibit in the German port of Bremerhaven.
The 1/700 scale RCsubs kit captures the hull shape, turret and deck details with high accuracy. The resin parts allow the turret to be assembled either closed or with partially open access. The kit also includes small detailed components such as grilles, hatches, railings and vents, mostly photo-etched for maximum realism. This is a model designed for experienced builders who appreciate the fineness of detail and technical difficulty of assembly.
