1/48 F-4G PHANTOM II WILD WEASEL V

The McDonnell Douglas F-4G Phantom II was a rebuild of the F-4E fighter version and was designed exclusively to destroy enemy radar and anti-aircraft systems. The aircraft was equipped with state-of-the-art electronics and the AN/APR-38 (later AN/APR-47) system, which could accurately locate and jam enemy radars. Instead of the internal M61A1 gun, a large block of sensors and electronic systems were installed in the nose of the aircraft, making it an ideal tool for "radar hunting".

The F-4G "Wild Weasel V" entered service in the early 1980s and served primarily with U.S. Air Force (USAF) units in Europe, the Pacific, and the Middle East. It saw its greatest combat deployment during the 1991 Gulf War, where it participated in the suppression of Iraqi air defenses. The aircraft carried the typical armament of the AIM-88 HARM, AIM-7 Sparrow and AIM-9 Sidewinder, supplemented by jamming containers and auxiliary tanks.

The 1/48 scale Zoukei Mura kit from the "Super Wing Series" brings an accurate reproduction of the F-4G variant with attention to detail and technical fidelity. It features a realistic cockpit for both pilot and electronic systems operator, accurately rendered J79 engines, detailed weaponry and the characteristic antennas and sensors typical of the Wild Weasel version. The model is intended for experienced modelers who will appreciate the combination of technical accuracy and authentic appearance of this important variant of the legendary Phantom II.
