1/48 Ox Towing Me 163B with a Luftwaffe Ground Crew
Na konci druhé světové války byly situace Třetí říše v zásobování pohonnými hmotami tristní. V rámci úspor paliva byla k přesunu letadel na letištních plochách používány tažná zvířata. To se týkalo i nejmodernějších proudových a raketových letadel jako byly Me 262 nebo Me 163. V roce 1945 bylo tedy možné spatřit situaci, kdy raketový letoun Me 163, který byl v té době patrně nejrychlejším bojovým letounem světa, táhne obyčejný vůl. Sada nabízí mechanika Luftwaffe s tažným zvířetem, s jehož pomocí byl po letišti přepravován letoun Me-163B Komet. (Figurky vznikly podle dobové fotografie. Rovněž existuje fotografie, kde je stejným způsobem tažen letoun Bf 109G). Zvíře je ale možné využít i do jakéhokoliv jiného diorámatu, kde je možné jej uplatnit.

At the final stages of WW2, the Third Reich faced serious shortage of fuel and to save the maximum amount possible, draft animals were used for taxiing aircraft on airfields, too. Even the most advanced jet and rocket-powered military aircraft such as the Me 262 or Me 163 were often seen in 1945 being towed like a mere middle ages style ox cart. This set contains a figure of a Luftwaffe groundcrew with a draft animal ready to tow a Me 163 Komet on the airfield (the figures have been sculpted based on a period photo. However, a photo of a Bf 109G being towed by such poor animal exists too). The draft animal offered in our set can be used in any other type of diorama as well.
