Description

Plastic model kit of the 5,5cm Flak (VG2) Gerät 58, an automatic anti-aircraft gun developed during World War II. The kit is produced by the brand 16.02, known for their detailed and accurate military models. The model number for this kit is VK35001.

Key features of the product include:

  • Scale: 1:35, offering a detailed and realistic representation of the original gun.
  • The kit comes as a full set, allowing enthusiasts to assemble the gun from scratch.
  • Released in 2020, it represents a new tool in the world of scale modeling, signifying an up-to-date and detailed design.
  • The packaging is a rigid box with a top opener, ensuring the parts are secure and well-presented.
  • An aluminum barrel is included, adding to the authenticity and quality of the finished model.
  • The kit does not come built or painted, providing modelers with the freedom to customize and detail the model as they see fit.

Historically, the 5,5cm Flak (VG2) Gerät 58 was developed by Rheinmetall-Borsig as well as Krupp in response to the German ministry of War's demand for a mid-size caliber anti-aircraft gun. This gun was intended to fill the gap between the calibers 3.7 cm and 8.8 cm. Although the gun reached the prototype stage and a final version was produced in February 1945, there is no evidence that it ever saw action in the war.

This kit is ideal for scale model enthusiasts and collectors interested in World War II military equipment. It offers a blend of historical significance and modeling challenge, suitable for experienced modelers looking to expand their collection with a unique and less commonly seen piece of artillery.
